Anton Hesse was the brother of Irish terrorist, Victor Hesse. Steve had been tracking down the Hesse brothers for 5 years and finally was able to capture Anton. After Victor offers Steve a deal to exchange his brother for Steve's father, negotiations fail as Steve was forced to kill Anton after he tried to escape. Victor then killed John McGarrett to avenge his brother.
